Take Softwood Cuttings of Asters. [Jun 01, 2010]June is supposedly a good time to take some softwood cuttings of asters and mums. I want to give this a try to see how it does, maybe even trying some of my other cool, fall bloomers.

Mulch Agapanthus. [Dec 15, 2009]Put a couple of inches of mulch on the three Agapanthus that I have in the beds this year. The goal here is to insulate them until late March. Part of this task is creating a second task to remove the mulch.
1699 Autum Joy Sedum. [Dec 10, 2009]Get the Autumn Joy Sedum in the Old Dogwood Bed and Corner Xmas tree beds. It might be good to move some of it to another bed at 1699, but most of it I want to use to create a swath of these at Wilton for the Bees.
Try to Root 1699 Fig. [Nov 01, 2009]From reearch : Ground or air-layering can be done satisfactorily, but the tree is most commonly propagated by cuttings of mature wood 2 to 3 years of age, 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick and 8 to 12 inches long. Planting must be done within 24 hours and the upper, slant cut end of the cutting should be treated with a sealant to protect it from disease, and the lower, flat, end with a root-promoting hormone.
Take Caryopteris Hardwood Cuttings. [Oct 31, 2009]I want to try to take a half dozen cuttings once this shrub on the far dog fence border goes dormant.
Transplant Leadwort. [Oct 16, 2009]Move the Leadwort to a place well away from the oak, towards the front of the border.
