The fall veggie crop was a semi-success. The turnips came up very thick and I was only able to thin half of the row. The half that I did not thin really took off and became a serious patch of leaves. So, I took some fresh cuttings and cooked up my first batch of turnip greens, which turned out to be delicious.
The beets also appear to have turned out well, coming up fairly strong. As a test crop, there are not a lot of them, but surely enough for a couple of dinners (and I will definitely do more next year, if I do get a good crop in the end.)
The lettuce was very lackluster and none of the spinach came up. I am considering starting the spinach again this weekend.
